Mountains and Horses
While we were recently in UT visiting family I had the opportunity to go for a horseback ride with my mom. My mom grew up on horses in the country and has always had a passion for them…so it is never hard to convince her to go riding. I had gone riding with her a few times in the past and always have enjoyed it — I never had much understanding of the horses, the gear or technique, but that didn’t mean I didn’t have fun. Both my mom and I admitted during our ride that we were born in the wrong century — if we had a choice we would both go back to the ‘Old West’ where you could ride a horse for weeks and never see another soul…
Tash was nice enough to let my mom and I go play hookie one day up in Eden UT. It was a beautiful day — mid 70 degree temperature, no clouds, a light breeze. It was during the week so the trail was empty we had the whole place to ourselves. I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to take some pictures along the way. This particular trail is one of my favorites to ride because you follow a creek up a canyon. There is a variety of terrain and scenery to encounter along the way. Luckily for us the fall apples were in season and we took the opportunity to harvest a few for ourselves and the horses. All in all it was a perfect day with great memories not soon to be forgotten! Thanks Mom!!
For those of you who may be familiar with the area, we rode the Middle Fork trail.
