Yup, that’s a real word. Definition? Everything that hasn’t been blogged about in the last two months. Obviously I’m lame and haven’t written in a while. I have a good reason though! My computer zonked out on me a few weeks before Halloween and I haven’t been able to get my hands on a new charger/battery for my MacBook until now. Thank goodness for my sweet mother, who sent me one. I think it was more for her than me, because she hasn’t seen Emmaline in over two months and I think she was slowly going batty. So here is a quick recap of what has been happening in the Wheatley household and tons of pictures!

Halloween– It was Emma’s first and of course it had to be perfect! I decked out the house (with only $10 worth of dollar store decorations) and we had a few friends over for a small party. Emma was a frog thanks to her patented “Frog Face” that she introduced to us a while back. Our neighborhood did a pretty good job of decorating, the weather was perfect, but where were the Trick-or-Treaters?! We seriously only got about a handful. I was a little disappointed about that, but we had good food and some really great friends over, so that made up for it!

Thanksgiving– It was only the three of us for dinner, so it was a quiet one. Emma still doesn’t eat people food, so I basically cooked an amazing Thanksgiving dinner for two. I stole Grandma Jean’s green bean casserole recipe and tried out a few new ones. Since Andy doesn’t really enjoy turkey, I made a ham instead. I think this is going to be a new Wheatley tradition because it is easy to cook, and you don’t need to thaw it out the night before in your bathtub.

Snow Storm– Yup. Snow. We got snow before a lot of our Yankee friends and we have the pictures to prove it! Andy was lucky enough that he could work from home that day because everyone forgot how to drive and there were a ton of accidents. We secretly wished that we would have built the fireplace that night, because man was it cold! It’s funny now that we live in Houston, whenever it gets below 60 we think its freezing.

10 Months– Emma turned 10 months old yesterday! When did she get so big?! She just barely cut her first tooth, to the amazement of her pediatrician, and is a little monkey. She loves to climb up anything and everything. She absolutely loves the stairs and tries to climb them every chance she gets. She loves to crawl under things as well and we can’t wait to get her a little play tent or something so she will stop crawling under the kitchen table and crying when she gets stuck. She can wave “bye-bye” now and is very shy when it comes to meeting new people all of the sudden. She likes to tilt her head to the side and give a half smile– sometimes she even looks like her cousin Paisley when she does it! She still only eats baby food and is a lazy eater. She will only eat puffs or drink her bottle if we feed it to her. If we hold out our hand for her to grab a puff, she just eats out of the palm of our hand like a billy goat instead of picking it up with her fingers and feeding herself. We are working on using a sippy cup, but it is usually ends up as a teether. She is learning how to scream louder and how to make new sounds which amuses her. If she had the choice between a toy or a book- she will probably choose the book. It’s funny how fascinated she is by them. She can stand by herself for a few seconds at a time and is starting to cruise on the couches. Hopefully we still have a few months before she starts to walk though!

So whats next for the Wheatley’s? Hopefully getting a holiday picture taken and sent out to all of you lovely people BEFORE we leave to for Utah for Christmas. Don’t be surprised if you get a Christmas card in April though… trying to get all of us in one place in a good mood is starting to become a rare thing (and there’s only three of us!). I will also try to keep everyone updated more often now that I have the laptop back– thanks again mom! :)
